zoustar x ashadihan

We are absolutely delighted to announce the purchase of this beautiful two-year-old daughter of ZOUSTAR, secured for what we believe is an absolute bargain at just 13,000gns at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale.

This is a filly we are particularly excited about, not only because of her outstanding pedigree and physical presence, but also because she marks the beginning of a brand-new partnership for Nick Bradley Racing with the hugely exciting young trainer HARRY CHARLTON.

When we first saw this filly, we genuinely couldn't believe the value on offer.

She is a beautiful, classy individual with plenty of size, scope and quality. Very much a three-year-old type, she looks a filly who is going to continue developing physically over the coming months.

Had this filly been presented at one of the major yearling sales last autumn, we firmly believe her pedigree and physical attributes would have commanded a considerably higher price.

Instead, we have managed to secure her for just 13,000gns!

The way we look at it, her owner/breeder has effectively done us an enormous favour.

Rather than us spending a substantial sum buying her as a yearling, they have kept her, fed her, looked after her and allowed her another year to mature and develop.

We are now getting the benefit of all that time, patience and investment, without having had to carry the expense ourselves.

It is exactly the type of opportunity we love finding at the horses-in-training sales.

Her pedigree really is something special.

She is by the outstanding international stallion ZOUSTAR, who has established himself as one of the most successful sources of speed and quality in the world.

His European success stories include LEZOO, winner of the Group 1 Cheveley Park Stakes, and STARLUST, winner of the Group 1 Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint.

However, what makes our filly particularly appealing is her maternal pedigree.

Her dam, ASHADIHAN, was a seriously talented racehorse in her own right.

Trained by Kevin Ryan, Ashadihan finished an excellent second in the Group 3 Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot as a two-year-old, beaten just a length and a half by Illuminate.

She returned at three to win the Group 3 Chartwell Fillies' Stakes at Lingfield over seven furlongs, producing a tremendous turn of foot to come from the rear and win convincingly.

That is proper black-type form, and it is not every day you get the opportunity to purchase a daughter of a Group 3-winning mare by a stallion of Zoustar's calibre for just 13,000gns.

Ashadihan has already produced winners, including LADY MARIKO, another talented daughter who has won three races.

With Zoustar supplying plenty of speed and her dam having demonstrated genuine Group-class ability over six and seven furlongs, there is plenty to like about this filly's potential.

For us, this is a pedigree that looks far too good to be available at this sort of money.

One of the most important aspects of this purchase is the recommendation we received before buying her.

She came very highly recommended by a leading trainer, whose opinion we greatly respect.

Naturally, we wanted to do our homework before committing to the purchase, and Harry Charlton personally spoke to the team responsible for pre-training the filly.

The feedback could hardly have been more encouraging.

They gave Harry a glowing report, which, alongside the original recommendation, gave us enormous confidence that we were buying a very nice young horse.

Combined with what we saw physically, her outstanding pedigree and the extraordinarily attractive purchase price, we felt this was an opportunity simply too good to pass up.

We are also absolutely thrilled that this filly will become our first horse in training with HARRY CHARLTON at the historic Beckhampton Stables in Wiltshire.

Harry comes from one of the most respected racing families in Britain.

His father, ROGER CHARLTON, enjoyed an extraordinary training career, producing numerous Group 1 winners, including AL KAZEEM, DECORATED KNIGHT, TIME TEST and QUADRILATERAL.

Roger famously trained two Classic winners in his first season at Beckhampton, and the family has maintained an outstanding reputation for developing high-class racehorses ever since.

Harry worked alongside his father for several years, initially as assistant before the pair operated under a joint licence. He took over the licence in his own right at the beginning of 2024.

Since then, he has continued to establish himself as a trainer with a very exciting future.

Among his successes have been HAND OF GOD, winner at Royal Ascot in 2024, OKEECHOBEE, winner of the Group 3 Gordon Richards Stakes, and WINE DARK SEA, winner of the Group 3 Geoffrey Freer Stakes in August 2026.

The calibre of owners who entrust Harry with their horses tells you everything about the regard in which he is held.

His current ownership roster includes some of racing's biggest names, such as JUDDMONTE, MOHAMMED JABER and AL SHAQAB RACING.

For Nick Bradley Racing to be joining those names at Beckhampton is something we are extremely excited about.

Beckhampton is one of the most historic and prestigious training establishments in British racing.

Situated in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, the yard has been home to generations of outstanding racehorses and Classic-winning trainers.

The facilities are exceptional.

Harry has access to a six-furlong Polytrack gallop, a seven-furlong woodchip gallop and extensive grass gallops, including the famous mile-and-a-half Valley Gallop.

It is a wonderful environment in which to develop young horses, and the patient approach that has become synonymous with the Charlton family is something we believe will suit our filly perfectly.

We have purchased a filly who looks all about her three-year-old season, and we couldn't think of many better trainers to be entrusted with bringing out her full potential.

Ultimately, this purchase represents everything we love about buying horses.

A beautiful, scopey individual, a world-class sire, a Group 3-winning dam, outstanding recommendations and a place in one of the most prestigious training yards in Britain.

And all for just 13,000gns!

We are under no illusions that every inexpensive purchase will turn into a superstar, but we genuinely believe this filly represents exceptional value.

She has been given the time to develop, she comes with glowing reports from people who know her well, and she will now be in the hands of a trainer with an outstanding reputation for producing talented racehorses.

A daughter of ZOUSTAR out of a GROUP 3 WINNER, joining HARRY CHARLTON at BECKHAMPTON for just 13,000gns.

We cannot wait to see what the 2027 season has in store for her.
