Our first purchase on day two of the Goffs Autumn Yearling sale over in Ireland was an Unfortunately filly who we purchased for €4,500.
Anybody watching the sale would notice just how poorly attended the sale has been and that’s been reflected in just how many horses have gone unsold.
The Irish breeze ups boys in the room wouldn’t be looking at Unfortunately stock and as a result we knew we’d have to pay much less than see would have been worth in any other sale in the UK.
Unfortunately won the G1 Morny as a 2yo along with a couple of other stakes race at both two and three.
From a tiny stock he has had some success, Perdika is a multiple stakes winner for George Boughey, she also finished second in the G1 Abbaye.
The dam, Fearless Flyer won an Irish maiden by thirteen lengths before winning a G3 in Canada before being retired to stud.
She’s had some success, producing Crius who finished second in the Craven Stakes after winning a Newmarket G3 on its last start as a 2yo.
Most recently, Turbulence peaked at an RPR of 87 and had he raced in the UK, he’d of won a lot more than his one race.
She’ll join Craig Lidster who has taken a 50% share in the filly. Craig enjoyed a very profitable season with his 2yo’s enjoying 10 winners.
He also had a great success with winning IRE incentive races which comes with a €10,000 bonus for all qualifying horses.
This filly is IRE registered and it’s something we’ll be looking for when we do her early race planning with the chance to win double her sales figure on top of any prize money!T
