Ten Sovereigns x Stars so bright

This filly was bought from the Tattersalls Craven Breeze Up Sales for 62,000 Guineas.

Nick's had great success from the Craven Sale in years gone by with horses likes Donjuan Triumphant (30,000) who was a Group 1 winner and last year The Resdev Scholar (45,000) who won three times as a 2yo and looks an exciting and progressive 3yo.

Buying from the breeze up sales is getting harder year on year and everyone's list are getting smaller and smaller in terms of the horses that are in demand from the sale. 

There were several reasons to buy this filly and in all honesty. Nick speaks with alot of the riders who do the breeze up circuit and when he spoke to Michael Cleere, he was very keen on this filly and then three or four colts from the 16 horses he rode on the day.

In her breeze you can see that she takes a bit of organising going into her first furlong and that is reflected in the time which was 11.3 seconds (141 fastest) , then as she comes up out of the dip she really picks up going up the hill in the final furlong to record a 10.9 second (75th fastest) furlong. She continues in the gallop out and records a time of 4.17 seconds which was the 6th fastest of the 182 horses who breezed. You love to see a progressive breeze and this breeze suggests you wouldn't know the limits of this filly as had she been organised a bit sooner she would have recorded a much fast first and second furlongs. 

Nick bought a filly called Fast Response a few years ago with a very similar breeze, she was 3rd fastest on the gallop out and achieved an official rating of 104 at her peak. 

Stars So Bright (Sea the Stars) has already produced three horses who have ran to RPR's in excess of 90 and on our pedigree interpretation we expect this filly to make up into a 7-furlong horse. 

She trotted up sound after the breeze and was a strong good-looking filly. She stands around 15'2, is a good mover and looks like a filly we could expect to have on the track in May as a 2yo over 6 furlongs.

She vetted very well and had no findings on her X rays which gives us plenty of confidence in buying her.

She joins Olly Sangster who attended the sale and had this filly as the one that he was keenest to buy once he had seen the breezes and inspected the horses. Ollie did really well with Glamis Road who we bought from the breeze ups in 2024 and in 2025 we bought Cool Molly who has won four times and placed five times from 11 starts.
