SUPREMACY X GHERBAL

We are delighted to have secured this attractively bred daughter of Supremacy at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale. Purchased for €14,000, she will join Tim Easterby, whose outstanding record with sprinters makes him an appealing choice for a filly with speed running throughout her pedigree.

Supremacy was a top-class two-year-old, winning the Group 2 Richmond Stakes before landing the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes. A son of the hugely successful Mehmas, he brings precisely the juvenile speed and quality we look for when buying a potential two-year-old performer.

His daughter Anthelia has already demonstrated what he can produce. Bought for just £6,000 as a yearling, she developed into a multiple-winning juvenile, taking the Listed National Stakes and Group 3 Dick Poole Fillies’ Stakes. Her achievements are a compelling reminder that an affordable daughter of Supremacy can progress well beyond her purchase price.

Our filly’s dam, Gherbal, is by Siyouni and is a half-sister to Maarek, the outstanding sprinter whose victories included the Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye. Her granddam, Ruby Rocket, was herself a multiple Listed-winning sprinter. This gives the filly a strong foundation of proven sprinting ability on the female side of her pedigree.

We like the combination of Supremacy’s precocious speed with a Siyouni mare from such an accomplished sprinting family. It gives us sound reasons to be optimistic about her potential, and securing that pedigree at €14,000 makes her particularly appealing from a value perspective.

She will have an experienced team around her at Tim Easterby’s Habton Grange yard. Tim has developed exceptional sprinters including Winter Power, Art Power, Pipalong and Somnus, and we look forward to seeing him bring this filly through her preparation and identify the right opportunities for her.

She is a filly that we see running plenty throughout the year, Tim does an excellent job in keeping his fillies sweet throughout the season.

We will be starting off in restricted races which will make our life much easier early in the season before stepping up in grade after an early season victory for races like the Marygate, Lily Agnes, Hilary Needler
