MAJOR UPDATE - Half Sovereign sells for €2.6million!
Siouxpersonic, 36.16 and Half Sovereign, 36.14 ran almost identical times for the final 3 furlongs of the race at Doncaster on 11th September 2025. Their jockeys employed very different tactics with Half Sovereign setting the pace in the slowly run contest and Siouxpersonic sat in last position under Warren Fentiman.
We believe our filly is very exciting addition, here from Nick on the video below.
The yard are excited to get started with this progressive filly!
After a frustrating Wednesday, when we failed to land any of our major targets, we reset on Thursday morning and drew up a small and select shortlist for the fourth day of the sale. This filly was our number one pick and Hugh Taylor also backed up our opinion on her, taking a large share in the filly once the hammer came down.
In truth, we were at our very last bid, there were several parties interested including her current trainer Ed Bethell who didn’t want to lose her, such is his high opinion of her.
She first came onto our radar at the breeze up sales, she clocked a nice time at the Goffs UK breeze up sale and made our final shortlist, with the hammer going down at £60,000.
Her mare was just like this filly, sharp, she won a Curragh five furlong maiden as a juvenile and she’s already bred a listed placed sprinter.
The Sioux Nation x Invincible Spirit cross has also been tested many times and it continues to produce sharp animals such as Behind Enemy Lines and Brave Nation.
Her run at Doncaster was very good in what is typically a warm fillies nursery, she was finishing well behind Half Sovereign who would go onto group three success just this week.
Prior to that, she was a major eye catcher at Thirsk, running some excellent closing sectionals having found herself sat in the rear off a fairly sedate early gallop.
Her final two furlong time was very good on the day and this reaffirms our opinion that she is a better filly over six furlongs.
Whilst her maiden victory shown here was impressive, we don’t believe that she’s restricted to five furlongs and with a winter of her backs, we’ll look to start over six furlongs in some valuable three year old only handicaps.
Physically there is plenty of her and she looks the type to do extremely well over the winter, something Julie and Steve were very keen to stress having seen her in the flesh.
2026 should be very productive for this filly and we fully expect to see her rise through the handicap which can hopefully see her step into stakes company in the second half of the year.
