This mare simply does not miss with her two year olds!
Outstanding physical model, the best Lope Y Fernandez we have seen this year.
Around this time last year, Nick felt that the two best yearling fillies by first season stallion, Lope Y Fernandez where Saucy Jane and a filly called Isle Of Fernandez. Isle of Fernandez sold at this very sale in 2024 and we kicked ourselves for not buying as we simply didn't have a trainer who was that keen on her, she has gone on to be group three placed with the best yet to come given her physical make up.
Nick tells me that this filly was in his top five fillies he has seen all week and she is without doubt the best filly by Lope Y Fernandez that he has seen this sales season.
Encouragingly for us, seven of the stallions best eight progeny this year have been fillies which is a remarkable stat and one we hope to enhance next season.
Whilst the stallion hasn't had the start the National Stud would have hoped for, he has been enjoying some more success recently and it's felt that his best progeny are soft ground animals, which isn't ideal for the driest year that i can remember.
The mare, Queenoftheclyde is by Dandy Man and she was a winner over the minimum trip as a two year old. Dandy Man has a proven track record as a damsire, producing several top tier sprinters such as Turn on The Jets, No Truth Alexander and this season, the very promising, Leovanni.
We were alerted to this dam’s offspring for the first time early in 2024, her first foal Flicka’s Girl was one of the first two year old winners of the season and her trainer offered her to us privately ahead of her debut run. She won by five lengths on that occasion before finishing second in the Lily Agnes stakes, albeit she looked very much like a first foal, being on the small side.
This years two year old, Songs of the Clyde, is the highest earning two year old in Europe and he looks destined for stakes success as a three year old given his size and scope.
We believe our filly will follow suite, she is a bull of a horse who looks very quick but she should only improve with time
Anybody that follows racing semi-regularly will have noticed just how well Tim’s horses have been running this year, he has amassed a staggering 122 winners so far this year with his two year old fillies being the particular highlight. Anaisa and Argentine Tango are both listed winners with Revival Power also a listed winner in addition to her group two, Flying Childers victory.
Amazingly, the three horses mentioned above have ran twenty eight times between them, Tim isn’t afraid of running them and that fits alongside our philosophy hand in hand.
Tim likes what he see’s with our filly, he’s had a lot of success when training “unfashionable” stallions and he is taking a large share in the filly.
Out of every horse we have purchased to date, this filly is probably one of the easiest horses to predict which route we will follow.
She will be early, running over five furlongs in April/May and with her hammer price, she will either just fall into band D’s or possibly just a band C.
There are several valuable restricted races at the start of the season which we will target, and we will be looking to emulate the path that Ali Shuffle followed given our filly is also 100% GBB registered.
We won £50,000 in bonuses with Ali Shuffle and we believe we have every chance of emulating that success with this filly.
On the back of that, we would be looking at races like the Lily Agnes, Marygate and hopefully Royal Ascot.
