One hell of a pedigree with the physical to match!
Whilst he is sadly n longer with us, Calyx enjoyed a short but productive spell as a Coolmore stallion.
His time on the track was also short lived as he was seen just four times but he made a lasting impression, romping home in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot as a two year old before scattering his rivals in the Commonwealth cup trial as a three year old.
He has stamped his crop very well, his progeny tend to be striking Chesnuts with plenty of ability.
With two Group One winners already on his record almost a long list of other stakes winners and performers.
Without doubt, his best cross is when he crossed with Galileo mares which is exactly what we have bought here.
Over 60% of the 18 examples have achieved an RPR of 90 or higher!!!
Whilst her pedigree isn't the primary reason for her purchase, this filly has a very good pedigree which only looks set to get better next year.
The previous foal out of the mare, She's Perfect, was first past the post in the French Guineas only to be demoted to second after a stewards enquiry.
She has been given the remainder of 2025 off but she is expected to challenge for group one honours as a four year old.
Charlie Fellowes was very keen to train our filly, he trains the half sister and he felt our purchase price was a snip of what she could be worth down the line.
Our filly should always hold her value as a broodmare based on the half sister and if we were to pick up any blacktype ourselves, she would a be very attractive broodmare for a breeder.
Our relationship with Ollie has grown year on year since our first purchase, Really Darn Hot, who was purchased at the Guineas breeze up sale in 2025.
Ollie has gone on to accomplish plenty in such a short training career, with the majority of his high profile success coming in the shape of fillies which particularly suits our business model.
Earlier this year, he trained the 2nd and 3rd in the 1000 Guineas, a massive feat in just his third season of training
We've already tasted stakes success with Glamis Road, a moderately priced animal who exceeded expectation by winning the Listed Herod stakes in 2024.
She will qualify for band C races as two year old which is perfect for our model, where we look to target the valuable restricted races.
We have had a ton of success, especially this year with our fillies picking up huge chunks of prize money in the £30k Juddmonte sponsored restricted novices before eventually finding our way to Goodwood for the £100k EBF Fillies final, a race we won and placed fourth in 2024, whilst this year we finished second and fourth.
She has a €10,000 IRE Bonus assigned to her which will see us pick up a bonus should we win a qualifying race.
Given the prices over the past couple of days, this filly represents tremendous value and we were delighted to pick her up.
