Ed reports that our filly has really took to her routine since moving into his main yard.
He describes her as a good moving, attractive filly who looks like a racy, two year old.
It may come as a surprise to some that Ed has trained thirteen two year old winners in 2025 so he certainly knows how to get the job done!
Our filly has been entered for the £200k Somerville sales race which in 2026 carries more prize money than ever, you can read more on the link below.
Ed is very happy with our filly, she handled the breaking in process well and he believes she will be a nice forward type for the summer months.
This filly was bought from the Tattersalls Book 3 Sale. She was bred at Glebe Farm and is a daughter of the Sea the Stars mare Star Story. She is a good looking filly with a good action.
Bayside Boy is standing at Ballyinch Stud with a cover fee of €12,500, he won the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes in 2022 and was retired to stood following that run.
His first progeny will hit the track in 2026 but his first crop averaged over £41,000 in the sales ring which leaves this filly as exceptional value.
The Sea The Stars mare, Star Story was a £130k yearling who would be a winner as a three year old, only failing to finish outside the first three on just one start after her debut run.
She's already produced one multiple winner and we hope this filly is another to follow.
Bayside Boy is the first son of New Bay to hit the stallion sheds, the New Bay x Sea The Stars cross has produced a smart animal in the shape of Helmsley from a very little sample size.
Ed Dunlop was keen to buy this filly as was several other trainers but the hammer came down in Ed's favour and we were keen to support Ed by getting involved in her aswell.
Ed had 12 2yo winners in 2025 and he is well suited to 2yos who debut in the second half of the season and then progress as 2yos and beyond.
She should run around the middle of the season over 7 furlongs and then work her way up in trip from there. She would be a candidate for the £100,000 Goodwood Fillies finale which we have won and finished in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place positions over the last two years.
As she is a Band D animal, we will look to start in the £30k restircted novices in the season half of the season which should see have a great chance of picking up a €10,000 IRE Incentive.
